Why I don't like "Unlock Through PvP"

It leads to a downward spiral of losses. People who are successful from the beginning - probably by use of unlocking through PvE - continue to be more successful due to their ever growing library of skills. Those who lose will continue to lose because they will continually be put at a disadvantage. The gap will grow until unlock through PvP becomes depressing and unviable.

I gotta disagree with that Weezer, just IMO.

There's so many people playing this game, that I don't think there'll ever be huge day or two long runs goin on where you just don't win and can't level. Even months down the road, a new player will be able to either take on some other new players or get with a good group. I don't think there'll ever be a time where it becomes completly impossible for a win in the arena, especially if the base characters the player can make are proven to be good builds.

If that does happen, then the person can do a little pve for a day or two, and get some better ones.

I still stick to my learning curve and extremely short unlocking period.

Maybe you are misunderstanding something. No one said PvP'ers should have to do PvE to get the skills and runes they want. Look at the thread title again... the only thing me and many others are dead set against is the UAS button. Because the UAS button would kill what we enjoy. Other solutions for you to become competitive without doing PvE would not kill our fun. Which is why I consider an UAS button selfish, by demanding it you demand that many of those who currently enjoy both PvE and PvP will quit the game.

I dont want pure PvP'ers to quit the game, and I understand their problem and am thinking of solutions. Thus I dont demand any solution that would completely ruin their fun. But the UAS fighters want to completely ruin mine.

Thank you for actually posting in the spirit of the thread. Awesome! That is a valid point. Possible solutions:

Those PvP'ers who just started out with a handful of skills could chose an option to only be matched against others at a similar skill unlock level. Additionally, they could chose to try their luck against a team with many skills and elites, and get bonus point for every team member they kill, and an extreme boost for outdoing their entire team.

OR: 'Unlock points' could be given for every match that was played through to the end, no matter if it was won or lost.

OR: Unlock points could be given for mini-quests that are unrelated to killing the enemy team - such as being the first to kill their priest, using a new heal spell to prevent a specific team mate from dying, etc.
